What we liked
These bath crayons live up to their claims. They draw smoothly on a damp tub and on wall tile, and the colors are bright.
They even draw well on a totally wet surface. In this video, my son is drawing on our soaking-wet splash guard.
My little ones love to dump all the crayons in the water, so they often sit in the bath for 20 minutes or more. After a couple of weeks, the crayons and wrappers have not broken down at all.
They float, so they are easy to keep track of. Little hands can grab them right out of the water.
Drawings wiped off the smooth parts of the tub and tile easily, and my kids loved drawing with them.
What we didn’t like
We ended up putting them away because the color does not fully come off the caulking or the grout. My boys colored along the edge of the tub and between the tiles, and some of the color is still there.
Plain water wiped off most of the drawing on our white splash guard, but some color stayed behind.
Scrubbing with soap and water took off more than water alone, and a Magic Eraser helped get a little more off. Even after scrubbing, there is still color left on our grout and caulking.
Is it worth it?
Yes, if you don’t mind a little color on the caulking and grout, or you can find a way to cover the edges of the tub. On smooth tub and tile surfaces, they do everything they promise.
If your little ones can reach a lot of caulk, grout, or a splash guard, you may want to skip them.
Parent Tips
- When we checked on October 27, the 12 Pack was $13.99 with a 10% off brand promotion on the listing (code QHBH7BSL993F). Prices change often, so check before you order.
- There is also a 24 Pack, which was $19.99 when we checked.
- Wipe drawings off right after bath time. The sooner you erase them, the easier they come off.
