Review: Tub Topper vs. SHINFARE Bathtub Splash Guards
We tried two bathtub splash guards that keep water in the tub and give toys a place to sit: the solid Tub Topper Kids Bathtub Splash Guard and the soft SHINFARE Bathtub Guard.

Tub Topper Kids Bathtub Splash Guard
The Tub Topper is a long, rigid plastic tray that sits on the edge of the tub. It has suction cups on the bottom and on the side that faces the inner wall of the tub.

SHINFARE Bathtub Guard
The SHINFARE Bathtub Guard is a soft silicone tray that also sits on the edge of the tub. Because it is soft, there are no hard edges for little ones to bump into.

How the bathtub splash guards compare
Staying in place: Tub Topper wins. The Tub Topper sticks to both the bottom and the inner wall of the tub, so it holds much better. The SHINFARE moves too much and kept sliding off the edge.
Room for toys: Tub Topper wins. The SHINFARE has a much smaller surface, so it is hard to place toys on it. The whole SHINFARE guard fits inside the Tub Topper.
Safety: SHINFARE wins. The SHINFARE is soft with no hard edges. The Tub Topper can tilt and fall if your little one tries to climb on it. Putting something under the part that sticks out over the edge helps support it.
Washing your little ones: SHINFARE wins. The Tub Topper gets in the way when you reach in to wash your kids. This is less of a problem once they are older and can wash themselves.
Fit: SHINFARE wins. The Tub Topper is rigid and long, so it might not work with some bathtubs. It also cannot be pushed all the way to the end of the tub.
Which one we liked
We like the Tub Topper better, and it is the one we recommend. A splash guard needs to stay put and hold toys, and the Tub Topper does that job much better.
The SHINFARE is gentler, but it kept sliding off and barely held any toys.
Is it worth it?
Yes, if you buy it knowing the pros and cons. It holds well and gives toys a real home, but it can tip if climbed on and makes washing harder.
Before you order, make sure it fits your bathtub and the way you do bath time.
